How it's made
The Azek deck board is a capped cellular PVC decking product. This means it is solid PVC on the inside and is capped with a proprietary alloy that resists fade, stain and scratch and prevents mold and mildew from creeping in.
Maintenance and Warranty
Azek offers an impressive 30 year warranty on material defects, fade and stain.
Maintenance is simply a mild soap and water periodically. It is resistant to fading and staining and never needs to be stained or sealed. Also, this decking won’t rot, scratch or splinter. Finally, it resists mold and mildew.
Environment
Although it takes more energy to make a composite board than to cut down a tree, it is made from recycled material. Azek keeps wood scraps and plastic out of landfills by recycling it into decking. And, since the product lasts so long, it will prevent the waste of tearing down the deck to replace in 10 years. Not too bad.
