Lance McCarthy – Executive Director
Lance started his own deck building company his senior year of high school, and that company evolved over the next decade into what is now ReTouch. He was licensed as a Class A General Contractor in 2003, and has been focused on building and improving the company so it will serve its clients better each day.
Lance’s business philosophy:
“I believe that work should be approached as an opportunity to build lasting relationships and improve the lives of those we touch. We don’t “deal with” clients in order to do our own thing. We create a system that will most effectively meet the needs of our clients. This requires deep honesty, frequent and responsive contact, and sensitive competence. For all of the pressure of building and running a company, I still love waking up every morning and having the opportunity to help my clients accomplish their goals in a way they couldn’t without me.”
Joel Perry – Licensed Architect and Owner of Indwell Architecture
“I founded Indwell Architecture & Design because I believe that people should always come before profit and that good design begins and ends with the clients who commision it. You are at the center of what we do. If you are considering hiring an architect, or are just curious about the process I would love to hear from you. Our first meeting is always free. Our goal is not to sell you something but to build relationships and to be of service to you as you navigate the design process. We look forward to hearing from you!”
Pat Dolan – Licensed Architect and Project Architect of Indwell Architecture
With an accumulation of over 36 years experience with a variety of commercial and residential projects Pat is experienced in all phases of the design and construction process. Familiar with many design styles from the highly detailed traditional to the simple and clean contemporary, he is experienced and familiar with many construction methods from concrete frame to steel frame to wood frame.
“My goal has always been to help guide clients through the design and building process and help bring to life their dreams and inspirations from inception to reality that fit their work or life style as they see it not as I may see it. To some the idea of starting a building project may seem daunting and I try to allay that and turn it into something exciting and fun. It should be exciting and fun. And most of all, I think the process is an opportunity to build relationships with people that may be both beneficial and long lasting.”
Diane McCarthy – Administrative Coordinator
Diane has taken an interesting route to ReTouch. She has her BFA in Visual Communications and loves all things fine art including painting, photography, ceramics, textiles, printmaking, sculpture. She worked for years as a graphic designer/illustrator/art director and marketing manager. She has her MBA and used it in management positions and her small business art gallery/gift store in downtown Overland Park and now more than ever in her position at ReTouch. She loves encouraging and supporting ReTouch coordinators and designers, Retouch clients and ReTouch trades people. Her desire is to bring beauty and order to everything she touches. Yes, there can be a beauty to accounting and columns of figures that tell a wonderful story about positive transformations in your living and working space. She strives to add a responsive, competent, organized, calmness to her role in ReTouch.
Bethany Brenner – Interior Designer
Bethany has a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Kansas State University. She has developed a dedication to design that changes the lives of others and responds to their psychological and emotional needs. Design connects people to the spaces where they live and grow and cultivates an environment that enhances their quality of life. She believes that a design solution is only as effective as the extent of its research. That’s why creating a design solution based on the user’s behavior and interactions within the space is so important.
Kara Kersten – Interior Designer
Kara graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Architecture & Product Design from Kansas State University in 2007. She jumped into the remodeling industry right out of school and grew her experience in helping to create custom award-winning homes. After that, she started her own company, Kara Kersten Design, with a passion for combining art and architecture. Exited to work with more of an emphasis on collaboration she chose to join the ReTouch team. Kara is great at meeting the clients’ needs and wants, while bringing that spark of creativity that exceeds your project expectations.
“Residential Design & Remodeling is a very personal process. You’re disturbing someone’s home, moving through their daily space, and yet enhancing the way they live and feel for years to come. It can’t be successful without first being sensitive to the clients’ needs and creating a personal relationship with them. That’s what I enjoy most.”
Jared Trostel – Craftsman
Jared started his remodeling journey working summers painting with his dad in North Central Washington. When he was not painting during the summer, he developed his skills on various construction crews and church building projects. When Jared started his Master of Divinity in 2011, he worked on a remodeling crew in Birmingham, Alabama. He started his own remodeling business in 2012. After graduating in May of 2015 with an M. Div. Jared and his family moved to Kansas City. He joined ReTouch in October of 2015 as a lead carpenter after seeing the company’s passion for redeeming and beautifying people’s spaces.
Erik Haberkorn – Project Consultant
Erik started his own painting company his Sophomore year of high school and continues to be a steady backup hand for ReTouch. He graduated from Emporia State University in 2009. Before joining the ReTouch team, he worked as Program Coordinator for the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association developing continuing legal education seminars.
“I enjoy helping people connect with ReTouch by providing a relationship based service unique to the remodeling industry.”
